I’ve been trying to have 1 carbo reload (ie. “Cheat”) meal or day each week. I had been saving up last week for my favorite all-you-can-eat Italian restaurant but plans changed and we didn’t get to go. So as things go, I just decded to not to indulge.
I didn’t think too much of it until today. I noticed my workouts running out of steam and more than that…I have been having very intense cravings. Chocolate, crackers, potatoes, anything carb-y and I want it! I’m doing well losing weight but haven’t noticed an increased drop since no cheat, so I guess my reloads have actually been helping me.
3 more days to my reload….and I’m looking forward to it!
So my shoulder keeps bothering me. I had to take some elements out of my workout. I almost skipped it all together, but could see the dangerous path I was setting to on that. It’s so easy to fall off the horse and not jump back on. I took out some exercises that had movements that botherded my shoulder and added different ones in that didn’t. Pretty simple fix really. And it helped me keep a good attitude today!
Thank God for the start of a new 52 Day Challenge. It comes just in time to thwart the return of my BLOB!
Through with the low-carb headaches and on to the feeling of getting somewhere I want to go!
TIme to buckle down and get back on that TNT wagon. I like The idea of the Abs Diet, but it didn’t work for me this last month. Maybe later, huh.
Getting back onto TNT will take that wonderful 2 or 3 days of getting used to, but it’s time. I’m swithcing over to Fat Loss II from NROL as well. Right now my goal is to get down to 190, then re-evaluate. It seems that evry 10 pounds will be a good time to decide if I need to change anything.
Headaches are on the table for me the next 3 days, I started this morning and had a basketball ga,me tonight so I’ve already strated them tonight.here we GO!
This last week I started taking my protein shake after my run instead of before it. The idea behind it is to use the fatty acids in the bloodstream as energy during the cardio or HIIT instead of the shake eaten before. I’ve heard it can be catabolic, but I used to do it on my exercise bike (30-60 minute rides) and it seemed to work well for me then. So I wanted to give it a try during this wonderful holiday season where I tend to eat too much and not often enough.
Time will tell I guess.
I tend to get a little obsessed at times. The last 4 days I’ve had2 RT’s and 5 CT’s. In that time I’ve noticed my weight stop inching down. I’ve done this before and had the same results and am pretty sure it’s due to lack of recovery time. Some times I feel guilty if I’m just sitting around watching TV and think I could jump on the treadmill. So of course, there I go–up and at ‘em.
I need to learn to slow down a bit at times. Just sit back and not worry about it. So to that end, I will do my best to take tomorrow off. We’ll see how it goes.
I think my 4 o’clock basketball games are taking on a life of their own. See my other post with this title and repeat it for yesterday.
It’s a great little release and stress cutter, but our season is over next week and that’s probably a good thing before this turns into a habit.
Finally I figured out how to do a reload.
Usually my reload day would consist of stuffing myself with any thing I could find. Buffets are my favorite, so that’s when I fit them in. I would end up feeling way too full, bloated and generally just crappy.
Today I think I did it right. Had a couple of rolls at lunch then a pasta dish. Felt a little more full than usual, but not uncomfortable. Had a very small dessert, probably about 1/5 normal size. At dinner I had some leftover green chili with 2 small tortillas and a handful of chocolate chips. not once did I have that sugar/carb/insulin rush kind of feel that is followed by the blahs.
I think this will set me up to play better in my basketball game tomorrow and gives me a mental break from the low carb eating which sets me up to attack next week with my workouts!!
After my basketball game last night 3 of us went out for a couple of beers. Which turned into a couple more, then a couple more, then some nachos, then a couple more.
ARGGGGHHHHHH!! Not again! Some times a couple extra is fine but that was just a little out of control for me. I had trouble getting up this morning to lift, but I did get my workout in after work, so that’s a positive. So no beers tonight as I had to watch my Broncos get slaugtered on national TV. Oh yes, a beer would have been nice in the 4th.
As I posted just an hour ago, I ate pizza tonight. You would think that an influx of carbs like that would give you a boost of energy! Not here. I was going to have a cardio workout tonight, but I feel tired and sluggish. Who knew! I would bet this feeling is how I gained weight in the first place.
Just an interesting observation.
